Over the years Articon has built many types of buildings: Hoyvík Church, Argjahamar School, BankNordik head office, Bakkafrost smolt farm, Hotel Brandan and SEV’s Sund 3 electricity plant , to mention a few.
Articon is often the main contractor, while plumbing, electricity, and paint work is carried out by subcontractors.
Concrete work
Articon has many years of experience with concrete. We have faced some challenging tasks with highly specific requirements for the quality of the concrete and reinforcement work.
In 2006 Articon launched its own concrete production. Articon continually trains staff to make sure that we have all the necessary concrete knowledge in-house, today and tomorrow.
Carpentry and joinery
Carpentry and joinery are significant areas of the work Articon supplies. Among our staff we have several qualified carpenters and joiners with long-standing experience and finely honed skills. We are also pleased to have some diligent apprentices.
Articon can take on all forms of woodwork assignments.
Masonry
Articon has an expert team of qualified bricklayers and apprentices. They have experience solving a broad range of tasks related to bricklaying and masonry.
Our masonry team can provide services independent of other tasks, but also as a part of a larger project, for example on projects where Articon is the main contractor.
Renovation and repairs
Articon has worked on multiple projects, large and small, where renovations and repairs were the focus. Buildings we have worked on include the iconic Faroese Telecoms building and the Faroese Parliament. Such projects entail various types of work: construction, sewer work, etc.
Element hall
Articon has produced elements – wood and concrete - for many large-scale projects. In 2019 Articon built a large element hall for the production of elements. With this hall we have excellent conditions for producing elements, which enables us to stay on schedule and on budget.
Steel
Articon has broad experience with steel work. Steel constructions are widely used and we have a specialised steel workshop.
