On June 20th 2005, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark placed the foundation stone of the new church in Hoyvík, which ArtiCon successfully tendered for.
The construction was a turn-key project and began on September 5th the same year,
The church, elegantly placed overlooking the small lake Tútakannutjørn, is a concrete construction. The roof is copper-clad, Oregon pine was used for the interior walls the pews and pulpit, whilst the floor is in white ash, and Faroese rocks were used for the font.
The church was formally delivered to East Tórshavn Consistory on September 14th 2007 and consecrated on All Saints Days November 4th 2007.
Mrs Katrin Dahl, Chairwoman of the Building Committee, stated
“All agreements regarding building costs, building time, details etc., were fully honoured by ArtiCon. The co-operation was a pleasure and we would like to mention the high working morale and dedication on the work site. We are very pleased with the workmanship “
