The KRAMBATANGI TRAFFIC HARBOUR
In 2004 ArtiCon was awarded the tender for the new Krambatangi traffic harbour in Suðuroy. This was a very large operation involving 300,000 m3 of rocks, 1,500 m3 of concrete and 1,100 tonnes of iron for reinforcement and interlocking. This provided Tvøroyri Municipality with 300 m of interlocked quay walls, 200 m of breakwaters and a harbour deck area of 10,000 m2.
The work involved drilling, blasting, dredging, moving rocks, placing interlocking iron, constructing sewers and water pipes and installing lighting equipment.
Building work began in August 2003 and was completed in September 2004 at a cost of DKK 51.8 Mio.
